In this letter, directors of 18 state-based marketplaces urge Congressional leaders to extend the enhanced health insurance premium tax credits (PTCs) to protect the 2025 enrollment for the over 21 million individuals currently enrolled in plans through the health insurance marketplaces. Without action, the enhanced PTCs will expire at the end of 2025 and as a result, millions of individuals are expected to drop coverage leaving them to avoid or delay care or become susceptible to medical debt.
